Do I need an appointment to get tattooed?
Most likely! Our artists stay pretty busy, and most are booked out at least a few days or weeks (some are booked out months!). You can always call and ask if we have walk-in availability, but it is not guaranteed.
How do I make an appointment?
We recommend you check out artist portfolios and see who you’d like to work with. If you don’t have a preference, we can make a recommendation based on the piece you are wanting. Once you’ve determined your artist, a consultation is recommended. Consultations are short appointments where you can meet with your artist, face to face, to go over your design ideas. During your consult, you will also be given the estimated cost for your tattoo. If you’d like to continue and set up an appointment, your artist will go through our schedule and find a day and time that works for both of you. When making an appointment, our shop does require a deposit. Tattoo appointments under 3 hours will require a $50 deposit, and appointments 3+ hours will require a $100 deposit. We accept cash or card for your deposit, but sorry – no checks! Your deposit comes off the final cost of your tattoo. It is non-refundable, but is movable with at least 48 hours notice. If you call last minute to cancel your appointment, your deposit will be forfeited and not applied to your next appointment. To reschedule with less that 48 hours notice, you will need to put down a new deposit.
Why do I have to leave a deposit?
Unfortunately, some people will not call in advance and not show up for their appointment. This leaves our artists with empty blocks of time in their day where they could have fit in someone else who is wanting to be tattooed. Your deposit not only shows a measure of good faith that you will show up for your appointment, but provides a small buffer to cover supplies and time lost for your artist should you not show up.
How do I prepare for an appointment?
Make sure you notify your artist of any medical conditions or prescription medications you currently take. Make sure to get a good night’s rest before your appointment, and eat a good meal. Avoid any sunburn, cuts, scratches, or other trauma to the area you will be getting tattooed. Shower before coming in (our artists appreciate it!), and wear comfortable clothes that won’t rub on your fresh tattoo when you leave. You are welcome to bring a pillow or blanket, headphones, or book. If you are coming for a full day session, you are welcome to bring snacks or visit SUBWAY located next door – but please, no food in the artists’ booths!
