Stu opened Vivid Ink in August of 2006. He is passionate about keeping the shop a clean, well oiled machine, that turns out stellar work for residents of the Holt / Lansing area and those who travel even further to get tattooed. Stu is highly sought after for his portrait style work.

GREG

Greg has been tattooing since 2009. He is a proud AMERICAN! His favorite pieces to work on include Traditional, Geometric, and Henna style tattoos.

STEVEN

Steven has been tattooing since 2000. He enjoys working in black and grey, but is always open to throwing color into pieces. He doesn’t claim a favorite style, but says he is always up for a challenge!

HOWARD
he/him/his


Howard finished his 2 year apprenticeship in the Summer of 2021 and has been exploded as an artist ever since. He enjoys doing script, butterflies, and flash designs. Outside of the shop, Howard is a Gym rat and sports enthusiast.

CURTIS

Curtis began tattooing in 2023, but has been a part of the Vivid Ink family since his father, Stu, opened the shop in 2006. Curtis is making a name for himself with his mastery of bold traditional and full color pieces, but is also talented in creating realism and fine-line pieces. However, Curtis can’t do a kickflip.

STEFF

Steff has been piercing since 2012 & Microblading since 2017. Outside of the shop, Steff is a proud mom to a little girl nicknamed ‘Pickle’. She is also a licensed skydiver and has an impressive collection of Doc Martens.

AKIRA

Akira joined Vivid Ink as an apprentice in June 2025. While she’ll soon be working with a machine, Akira has already been honing her skills through a variety of creative projects that showcase her growing range and dedication to the craft. Outside of the shop, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, exploring all things makeup and nails, junk journaling, and shopping.
